Our Team

David Needham, General Contractor

A Northwest native, David has a strong history in all aspects of construction, from skilled carpenter to superintendent to independent builder. Prior to starting his business in residential construction on Orcas Island, he spent several years in commercial construction as a project engineer on such projects as the Seattle Four Seasons Olympic and Tacoma Sheraton Hotels. In 1984 David moved with his family to Orcas Island to pursue his dream of building beautiful homes in one of the world’s most beautiful places. Twenty-five years later he has achieved an impressive portfolio, with several of his projects featured in print. Today he enjoys the distinct privilege and pleasure of working with his son Chris who shares his aptitude and enthusiasm for building.

Chris Needham, Construction Manager

Chris is the current general manager of Needham Construction and brings new energy and ideas along with his years of experience in the family business. Over the last fifteen years he has worked in all aspects of construction. In addition to skilled carpentry, he is accomplished at working with employees, architects and owners, as well as managing scheduling, estimating, cost control and cost tracking.

With his love of the islands and commitment to excellence, he is the active force that is taking Needham Construction into the future.
